    • Historical information: Roger C. Owen received a PhD in anthropology from UCLA in 1962, with a dissertation titled "The Indian of Santa Catarina, Baja California Norte, Mexico: Concepts of Disease and Curing." Fieldwork between 1955 and 1959 was directed by Thomas Hinton and Joseph B. Birdsell. These tapes were donated as part of the estate of Margaret Langdon, received in April 2005.
