- Historical information: The materials in this collection are the product of the longtime collaboration between by Prof. Susan Steele, retired from the University of Arizona, and Luiseño speaker Mrs. Villiana Calac Hyde (1903-1994), during and following Prof. Steele's time as a graduate student in linguistics at the University of California, San Diego (PhD 1973). They were donated by Prof. Steele in March and May 2021.
