    • Historical information: This collection replaces and expands upon the deaccessioned collection the Geoffrey Gamble Collection of Wukchumni Sound Recordings (LA97). The latter collection was originally made up of 55 tracks derived from 10 original five-inch reel tapes from 1973, which were mastered in 1979 by the Berkeley Language Center, then known as the Language Laboratory. In 2018, 12 more five-inch tapes from 1974 were digitized directly and added to the collection. Subsequently more tapes from before and after this period were donated and digitized directly. At this time, the first set of 10 originals were digitized together with the newest donations, and a new collection was created to house all of the tapes. Documentary materials stem from research conducted as part of Gamble's MA degree at Fresno State College (now University) and PhD at the University of California, Berkeley, granted in 1975.
    • Scope and content: Sound recordings of elicitation and texts primarily in Wukchumni (Series 001) as well as in Yawelmani, Makah, Nez Perce, Hopi, and Klickitat (Series 002), with associated discussions in English. Descriptions in Series 001 derive from researcher's personal inventory of tapes, and reference page numbers in corresponding notes.
