    • Historical information: This collection consists of recordings made during six sessions of the graduate course in linguistic field methods at the University of California, San Diego in 1973. The instructor was Margaret Langdon; the speaker was Edith Rowray. The dialect of Iñupiaq heard is the Point Barrow dialect. The voices of other unidentified students are also heard in some recordings.
      The recordings derive from five tracks of one ten-inch master reel tape (LIN15.1) and all tracks of another (LIN15.2) previously held by the UCSD Language Lab and digitized by them.
