• Description: Annual celebration of beginning of school holidays in advance of July 28, Peruvian Independence Day; includes speeches in Caquinte and Spanish, singing of the national anthem, shotgun salute, small parade, and ambient conversation; indicated speakers are only those who give individual speeches, with almost all community residents present. Following is a meeting of parents of school-aged children with schoolteacher; listed participants reflect those present in the meeting room.
