Description: Keeling catalog note: "This indigenous 'Ghost Ceremony' involved the impersonation of the dead by specially trained and initiated men, and it is distinct from the Ghost Dance that spread to the area in the latter 1800s. It is described in Gifford (1926b:353-354), Halpern (1988), Loeb (1926:338-354), McLendon (1977:24), and McLendon and Lowy (1978:316)."
