Historical information: Monica Macaulay received bachelor's (1979) and Ph.D. (1987) degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, submitting a study of Chalcatongo Mixtec morphology for her doctoral dissertation. She was subsequently an Assistant and then Associate Professor in the Department of English at Purdue University from 1987-1996 before joining the linguistics faculty as an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she has held the rank of Professor of Linguistics since 2001.
Scope and content: The Papers document a portion of Monica Macaulay's research on Mixtec while a graduate student at U.C. Berkeley. The collection includes Mixtec vocabularies, notes on elicitation sessions, and bibliographies prepared for field methods courses in 1981 and 1987.
