    • Historical information: Richard Applegate was introduced to Mrs. Ballard by her grandson David Peri. They met on four occasions in the home of her daughter. Richard Applegate used Catherine Callaghan's (1970) Bodega Miwok Dictionary to learn about the language before these meetings, which focus more on specific grammatical topics than an overview of the language. The recordings were originally made on a Radio Shack cassette recorder.
